HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY SPRAY TAN?
1 week prior:
Discontinue the use of Retinol and antiaging products, tretinoin, acne medication, pimple patches, make-up removers and toners 1 week before your appointment.
24-48 Hours Before:
Exfoliate and shave. Use a natural body scrub or exfoliating mitt to gently buff the entire body. Be sure to thoroughly cleanse underarms to remove any deodorant buildup.
Schedule any Mani/Pedi appointments at least 24 hours before your spray tan.
All waxing services should also be done a minimum of 24 hours prior.
Please discontinue the use of Dove, Dial, and Olay soaps ahead of your appointment.
Day Of:
Arrive with completely clean skin- no lotion, perfume, makeup, or deodorant.
That said, please avoid showering right before your appointment. If you need to rinse off any products, do so with just water (no soap or shaving) at least 4 hours beforehand.
Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to your appointment.
How Do I Maintain My Spray Tan?
Stay hydrated and moisturized
Well-hydrated skin = a better, longer-lasting tan. Apply a spray tan-safe location twice daily (avoid mineral oil). Look for body butter with shea or cocoa butter as the key ingredients for best results.
Future Showers
Skip loofas and washcloths, as they can fade your tan faster. Use a clear gentle sulfate free gel-based body wash or a gentle hydrating bar soap (not Dove). Spray tan friendly soaps are ideal for maintaining your color and avoiding fading and blotchiness. A few options are Cetaphil, Cerave. Do not use Retinol, antiaging products, tretinoin, acne medication, pimple patches, make-up removers, toners or any exfoliating products.
Activity
Limit time in pools, hot tubs, saunas and avoid long hot showers or baths. Excessive sweating can also cause your tan to fade more quickly.
Hold off on intense workouts for the first 24 hours. After that, opt for loose clothing and gently pat away sweat instead of rubbing.
